About Us

A community built around reading, not metrics

Stories Unite Us began with a simple observation: the best thing that can happen to a book is that a real person reads it and tells someone else about it.

We are a private reader community. Authors bring us finished books; we introduce those books to readers who might genuinely enjoy them. What a reader thinks afterwards belongs entirely to the reader.

We are not a marketing service, a review farm, or a promise of results. There are no guaranteed rankings, sales, or star ratings here — those things are earned by the book itself, in the hands of people who chose to read it.

What we can offer is attention. Careful, unhurried, human attention from people who still believe an unfamiliar book is one of life's better invitations.

What We Believe

Four things we hold to

Readers Come First

Our readers choose what they read. No book is assigned, and no opinion is expected of them.

Honesty Above All

We never ask for a positive review. A reader's genuine reaction is the only thing worth having.

Small And Personal

We stay deliberately small so every author speaks with a person, not a queue.

Respect For Time

Reading a book properly takes hours. We recognise that time and never take it for granted.

Meet The Curators

The people behind Stories Unite Us

Every submission is read by one of us, and every author hears back from a person.

As a Community Curator, Maureen helps bring authors and readers together, introduces new books to the community, and helps create opportunities for genuine conversations around reading.

She believes every book has a story worth discovering and every reader has a perspective worth hearing.
